# training

In this digital training, Karolin leads through an extensive warm-up that already sets the focus of the class. She uses guided improvisations to lead us through different body qualities and together we explore choreographic approaches from her own artistic work, such as the strong connection to rhythm. Alongside simple alignment and strengthening exercises, she combines individual tools to create a digitally danceable choreography in a small space.

In general, this class is considered a very powerful, joyful and challenging class that attracts dancers who love the physicality of dancing.

ABOUT

Karolin Stächele (*1984, Germany) trained at TIP – the Freiburg School for Dance, Improvisation and Performance (2009-2011). Since 2013 she works as a freelance dancer, performer, choreographer and dance teacher (2015: 1st prize in the federal competition “Rauskommen! Der Jugendkunstschuleffekt”; 2018: Innovation Award Soziokultur, BKM-Preis Kulturelle Bildung). In 2014 she founded the DAGADA dance company (www.dagada.org) with her first full-length work “loser” (further productions: “GRENZLAND” 2015, “radical matter” 2016, “the BLOB” 2017, “Androgynous” 2017, “MYTH” 2018, “LoveArchive” 2019 with the online blog www.lovearchive.live). In 2018 she collectively created the interdisciplinary piece “T.” for the Freiburg Festival (production: E-Werk Freiburg). In 2019 she dances in „Blood Song“ (choreography: Maya M. Carroll, production: E-Werk Freiburg).

Karolin showed her works in Germany, Switzerland, France, Czech Republic and the Netherlands. From 2017-2019 she was receiving the three-year concept funding from the city of Freiburg.

Lately she was working on „NAKED LOVE“, a production from E-Werk Freiburg, supported by Tanzpakt Stadt-Land-Bund.
