OBJECTIVITIES – contact improvisation workshop with Yanniv Mintzer

OBJECT – “anything that is visible or tangible and is relatively stable in form” ity- “condition or quality of being” working with objects has been a huge source of new information in the dance for me, in the past few years. when we hold or touch an object, our system is informed and begins to seek connection and relationship with the object. i imagine the nerves crawling up the object, to study it, play with it and make it part of the body. this process, when approached with honesty and playfulness, gives birth to fountains of new information, teaching us something very essential about the way we function and interact with this world. it also provides unedited functional tools to move, deliver weight and relate to eachother. we will explore different objects each day, and then dance with partners to integrate sensations and images into our CI dance. there will also be work around “CI technique” , lots of imagry and hand-on study of the body.
YANIV MINTZER
dancer, teacher, musician. dancing and teaching over the past decade, in both proffessional and amatur programs, in israel and worldwide. currently staff at jerusalem academy of dance, and running advanced trainings for CI dancers in jerusalem and tel aviv as well practitioner of the Ilan Lev method composing and recording original music in Hebrew.

Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, (plus evening presentation of Ilan Lev Method 6-8pm & JAM 8:30-11pm) Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm
