Seminar zu Tanztheorie mit Jana Unmüssig
In the four-hour long seminar we look at the 1990s and the first performative turn in dance in order to situate better the current meeting points of visual arts and dance: the second performative turn. Ultimately, the seminar hints to the possibility of letting go of the dualism dance versus choreography. Instead, the seminar suggests an expansion of both dance and choreography through performance. The seminar is based on a lecture with various case studies and active participation through conversation of all workshop participants.
About Jana Unmüssig: Jana is an artist, artist-researcher and choreographer. After an intense engagement in making choreography as a director/choreographer for black box theaters (2007-2015), she has started a process of wondering since 2015 that resulted in durational performances, paintings, walks, writing and intangible forms of encounter with others. All these endeavors group around almost-knowing and her research interests in vision and visibility and their opposites, post-humanist education studies/educational turn in the arts and theories of artistic research. She holds a D.A. from Uniarts Helsinki, and was a post-doc researcher at the Center of Artistic Research of Uniarts Helsinki 2019/2020. www.jana-unmussig
